Bug Description

If I have several accounts set up in Thunderbird, and I receive an email, open it and select 'Forward', I expect Thunderbird to send the forwarded email from the account that received the email. eg if I receive an email in the 'Rocko' account and go to forward it, I expect it to select the Rocko account to forward the email from.

However, Thunderbird instead selects the last account added (or it might be the last account that was altered, eg by saving a new password).

Same problem here.

Thunderbird 11.0 (Ubunu 11.10) is also uses the last added account to send a new create email. This while in I choose the correct account in the From field. I see there the account that I want to use to send the email. The mail is paced in the 2 outboxes (dir .Sent). 1) in the .Sent map of th right account and 2) in the .Sent map of the last added account.
Both email have there own sender according to the account.
The receiver only gets the email once.

How to reproduce:
--------------------------------------
Get Thunderbird 11.01
Make an (IMAP) account. #1
make a second account #2
Compose a email and select account #1 as sender in the From field.
Send the email
Take a look in both outboxes. The email is in two outboxes.
Take a look at the source of the email and see that only the From is different.

SOLVED

Damm....... After some experimentation I know what causes this problem I also got the solution.

Last week I swished in my account #1 the SMTP server from my own VPS to the one from Gmail according to account #2. In that case all email send over that SMTP gets the sender of the Gmail account.
If you think about this it's logical. It's an security issue on the Gmail SMTP that if you are using the Gmail SMTP the sender will be rewritten to the Gmail accounts setting. This is to avoid using the Gmail SMTP to send SPAM.

So this issue is NOT a BUG. It's a wrong configuration in the Client.

Hello Rocko,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2012 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect BUGNUMBER

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.
