Knowing that *ahem*
      Pinhole optimizations of dependency assertions
was the reason I suggested that version'd symbol
dependency removal should be undertaken instead.

There is far more "bloat" and a sounder optimization framework
removing version'd symbol dependencies than in detecting/optimizing
dependency ranges on an ad hoc basis.
