new menu-search incompatible with emacs meta (alt) key

Bug Description

i updated to the latest unity and when i press the alt key (which is the meta key) in emacs, the unity menu pops up and i can not enter the emacs command.

I'm having the same problem. For me, it's very frequent but fairly
random, every so often the way I'm using Meta (Alt) in Emacs is
interpreted by Unity as a tap - even though it wasn't; at least, not
intentionally.
