Bug Description

I have seen this on an external and internal display (which are both connected in parallel) on a Dell 1535 with an ATI gfx card (should eb using radeon). It seems to be more likely to happen for freshly started programs (basically rendering the menues for the first time).
Sometimes there is only a border and transparent contents, sometimes parts of the menu are displayed. It might be related to partially drawing that sometimes the menu seems to be "detached" from the menu bar. Moving the mouse into the menu will start rendering the contents. But the detachment remains until the menu has been closed and re-opened.
Also noticed that sometimes after that problem occurs, sub-menus are in the wrong color.

Seeing similar issues with Intel graphics, internal and external screens. Typically I see top level indicator menus either completly empty (ie just the shadow with a hole inside) or occasionally with a top-left segment filled in. This seems to be a mostly one time deal for me, once I mouse into the menu or arrow key sideways and back the menu is complete and seems to remain complete so far.

I also have some applications showing white backgrounds for some submenus. Terminal for one.

I was able to reproduce this easily on 2 intel-gfx-based machines, however I was not able to get the same result on AMD/ATi fglrx-driven one.
