Bug Description
For several months I use Pidgin (now 2.10.1) successfully under Windows. Recently I copied the profile folder ("purple") to my Ubuntu 11.10 computer which has Pidgin 2.10.0-0ubuntu2 and surprisingly I can't login to my XMPP account on that machine. Pidgin tells me 'not authorized' (Nicht autorisiert) even though the very same account profile still works under Windows! I verified the password several times and it's correct. Afterwards on Ubuntu I removed the account and added a new XMPP account with the same and verified credentials but still the same problem. Attached is the debug.

In the meanwhile I did another test and it turns out that the reason for this error seems to be that I use a different domain than the primary one of the server. Login with <email address hidden> works fine and the described error only happens when login with <email address hidden>. Of course the differentdomain.com has been configured properly at the server and login with Pidgin Windows and <email address hidden> works without a problem. I suspect server's certificate verification of the Pidgin Linux build is faulty for this particular use case.
