There is no A3 option from the new document menu

I presume this is a bug as I can't believe that such a simple function would be deliberately omitted?

You can choose from many predefined paper sizes in 'Document properties' (for the current document).

It's certainly not a bug if Inkscape doesn't ship with a template for A3 files (at the most it's a missing "feature"), and if you frequently need such a template, you can create it anytime yourself:

I also notice it today. Hope will be fixed soon.

File -> New from Template -> Page... has an 'A3' option, so this appears to have been implemented.
