[Feisty] smiley in Thunderbird not visible

I have sent out a message with a smiley this smiley is cut out.

it seems it is selectiv with removing smileys

hint: in this screenies i just added the pipes at line end to see were the "hidden smiley" should be

when turning off "show Emoticons as grafic" it is shown again
no i will look if the icon is missing

The status has been set to "Needs Info" but which info should i provide?

on the icon search front:
i fear i can´t help with that.
i have used
$ dlocate -L mozilla-thunderbird

to have a look where the smileys are stored but have no idea.

Someone an idea where the "Emoticons" normaly stored to have a look for them?

open feisty Thunderbird.

write -> ;) <-

and then send it to yourself.

When
options -> view -> show Emoticons is turned on

in the received mail the smiley is completly not visible (not even as text).
But in source view the smiley is there.

then turn off -> options -> view -> show Emoticons

and in mail pane you will see -> ;) <- again

PS. it seems to be important that feisty Thunderbird version is used to repeat the bug.
As others on mailing list confirmed this bug does not happen with edgys 1.5.0.10 Thunderbird.

hmm i have to say it works again.

What i did is as follows:
Yesterday when it apeared i turned Emoticons off and after all i quit TB and shot down the computer.

During this prefs.js is written.

Today i started TB again in this state and tried it again, which means turned Emoticons on again.

Now all Emoticons are showed correctly again.

As it seems this issue is solved for me.
Should i close this bug then?

I cannot reproduce this bug and since you no longer seem to be experiencing the issue I believe we can close this report, if it happens again please feel free to reopen it.
