Minimized windows are empty frames on restarting Unity

Bug Description

bzr1972

1. start nautilus
2. minimize it
3. restart unity from terminl with 'unity --replace' or restart it from alt-f2.
4. now click on nautilus icon in the launcher.

What happens:
see the screenshot. (tested it on both intel and nvidia)

I can confirm this happens. I thought it was only empathy and gajim at first.

They remain as empty squares if I start Metacity under a unity session with compositing enabled (sometimes I do this to run games or some programs using the graphics card (like blender).

Nothing has changed so far. It's quite a big bug in the LTS edition of Ubuntu I think, isn't it?

Do you see this issue when you:
#. login in unity
#. minimize a window
#. restart unity using `unity --replace` or just `unity` form the terminal?

yes, or if unity crashes and there was a minimized window.

The bug still exists, Ubuntu 12.04.1 64bit edition, latest kernel (but I have suspicion that 3.2-32 kernel was without this problem, regression may be?)
