Unable to open a link from apps

Unable to open a link from the programs, even send an error report is not until the browser is not close. Always: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." Pls, fix it.

Just open a terminal and write "pkill firefox", Enter, and restart Firefox.

The browser is running, is to open a new tab when accessing programs to firefox. I must kill him and not "Sometimes" and ALWAYS!

When the browser is running in the fluxbox unable to open a link from the programs (need close ff), in Unity OK. Probably a problem in xdg-open?

bug 916810 fixed, but the problem remains.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. In fluxbox open default browser firefox_11.0~b6+build1-0ubuntu1_amd64
2. Open thunderbird_11.0~b5+build2-0ubuntu1_amd64 or any other program from which you want to open a link in your browser
3. Always: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."
4. If your browser does not open when you click on links from other programs, the browser opens with the specified url

What is the expected result?
Browser should open a tab with the url !!!
WHY "close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system"? Please fix!
