Bug Description

This bug is wicked. Going to the the option 'Grid' in CCSM and then unchecking 'Snap Windows Back to Original Size' in the tab 'Edges' will completely wipe out Unity 3D and desktop globally , to any other admin users also.

Work-a-round:

Log on to Unity 2D. CCSM should be reset to default. Go to Unity-Plugin and enable.

Yes this is awful. Another way to recover is to log out (CTRL-ALT-DEL, because Unity is b0rked), then go to a console (CTRL-ALT-1) and use:

gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz-1/plugins/grid

After that you can log back into your Unity session.
