Not enough space to display low ink level warning, Status Messages very small in size

The attached screen shot shows the properties of my network-connected printer.

The Status Messages area is so small that a single line of text scrolls.

This area does not increase in size if the window is vertically expanded, or if the area contains more lines of text.
