Bug Description
On a clean install of LMDE, after upgrading to UP3, hibernation saves an image to disk and turns off the computer, but turning it back on boots as if no hibernation was done.
I first noticed this when my netbook hibernated automatically due to low battery, but it happens with manual hibernations too.
Searching online found me a simple solution, so it works for me now, but I think this is something that should be fixed in the build process for the install iso so it doesn't keep happening to new users.
In short, the problem is that the file /etc/initramfs-
The file says this:
RESUME=
which I guess is the UUID of the swap partition of the machine the iso was created on, while my partitions have different UUIDs.
Replacing that UUID with the UUID of my swap partition fixes the problem and makes hibernation work properly.
This was mentioned briefly in bug #636417, but since that bug is closed and was primarily about the fstab (which is fixed and working already), I thought it best to open a new bug for the problem with this file, so it doesn't get lost. I guess the cause and solution of both are probably similar.
Same exact issue , up till UP5 (from incoming repo). Install path was 201204 x64 livedvd install -> upgrade to UP4 -> UP5.
