Italics in 0.48

I created a file in version:
   sodipodi:version="0.32"
   inkscape:version="0.46"

The file applies italics to a font that has only 'normal' style available.
0.46 fakes the italics perfectly.
In 0.48, when I apply the italic style, the text is displayed using some other, non-italic sans-serif font.

Please provide information about your OS/platform, and the affected font (if it is freely available, a download link would be nice).
Could you attach the SVG used for the screenshot to allow testing on other systems with different versions of Inkscape?

Here you go:

System is Intel Core2 with NVidia Quadro NVS 160M video.
OS is WinXP SP3 build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.111025-1629.
Font is 'Ethnocentric', available here: http://www.dafont.com/ethnocentric.font
SVG is attached.

Not reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 and Lion 10.7.2.

Attached screenshot shows same file rendered in Inkscape 0.46 (background) and 0.48.2 (foreground) on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (32bit).

Reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape 0.48 and 0.48.2.
Not reproduced with trunk revision 10938.
Will test later with the latest 0.48.x branch revision.
