Bug Description

this comes up when I type in dmesg:
[ 3725.673255] compiz[9340]: segfault at 5 ip b4000935 sp bf9ca560 error 4 in libunityshell.so[b3ec4000+238000]

I'm using nightly:
Ubuntu precise (development branch)
Release: 12.04

I think I have the same issue, I have described it on Ubuntu forum here:

basically system is extremally unstable and crashes withing 5-10 minutes from logging in to the Unity session.
It was just fine last week, and after upgrade on Saturday/Sunday the crashes started,

This bug affects me too. Unity disappears twice after logging in and then nothing but wallpaper. No crash report/prompt whatsoever.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the developers failed (it does not generate an useful symbolic stack trace). This might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system at the time of the report. Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still encounter the crash, please file a new report.
