Bug Description

The latest (0.3.4) version of gnome-documents is much less usable in Ambiance or Radiance than in Adwaita. I guess we can look to http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-themes-standard/tree/themes/Adwaita/gtk-3.0/gnome-applications.css for blame/hints about how to fix this. Epiphany also looks bad (but still usable) and gnome-contacts will probably have a similar problem.

Documents requires that tracker be set up and running to show local documents (PDFs, LibreOffice documents etc. in your home directory). An easy way to do this is to reboot after installing Documents (or there's some command you can run to start tracker).

A specific problem is in selection mode. Selection mode can be activated by clicking the checkbox in the top right corner, or right-clicking a document or ctrl+clicking a document. Clicking a document once in selection mode should show a status toolbar thing in the bottom, but that status bar doesn't really display with Ambiance or Radiance.

Here's two updated screenshots from today with light-themes 0.1.90-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu quantal. Documents looks like this if you press the checkmark in the toolbar to active fancy touch-friendly select mode.

Differences I see:
1. Adwaita uses a green toolbar in select-mode (I don't know if this is something the Design Team wants to indicate that we're in touch-capable select mode)
2. Adwaita shows a single large checkbox; Ambiance shows more than 4 checkboxes.
3. Documents has a unique gray translucent secondary floating toolbar at the bottom. Ambiance doesn't do this so the secondary toolbar menu buttons are just floating on top of the documents.

Oh, and Nautilus will likely get this mode eventually, although it may not be ready in time for 3.6: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/681629

Seems to be fixed (in artful). However the bespoke tick design suggests it might have been fixed in gnome-documents rather than ubuntu-themes?
