gedit is not able to close

I am on Ubuntu11.10 64bit updated to 4.2.2012.

When gedit is uded to open kern.log, it is not able to close(it ignoring the close) until the kern.log is not closed before.

That should not happen.

Expected:

When close is used gedit should disappear even if files are opened.

Additional:

I have not tested with other files than kern.log.

Thank you for your bug report, does it happen every time? Did you wait a bit to see if it was only slow because the file was non trivial and still loading?
