Bug Description

Hello,

I'm using Kubuntu 11.10. It worked nicely at the beginning. But due to some kernel update the sound broke. I booted with an old 11.10 kernel (3.0.0-12, and the newest is 3.0.0-15) and the sound works. So it it definitely the kernel and not KDE.

Something has changed because the kernel switching causes KDE System Settings to give me a dialog that says the hardware has changed.

The sound still comes out. But it is not fun to listen to. KDE constantly tries to switch the output between the Analog Output and Headphones. And it causes the sound to do some heavy stuttering...

How can I gice my hardware info? The sound is motherboard integrated, Intel.

Hmm actually the:

Happens with this older kernel (3.0.0-12) as well. But somehow the stuttering can not be detected. Could it be KDE?
