sawfish-ui does not do anything

"sawfish-ui" brings up a window that just sits there. Clicking on "Matched Windows" or any of the other configuration categories has no effect. The "rep" process that runs the UI uses about 80% CPU and brings Xorg up to 40% CPU, before trying to click on anything (and also post-click). The "Close" button responds, however, as expected.
