Bug Description

Previous to 5.2 the defined colors for selected_fg_color & selected_bg_color would be used by the unity panel menus, whether defined globally in /usr/share/themes/Ambiance or locally thru org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-color-scheme

Starting with 5.2rc1 the panel does use selected_bg_color but any adjustment to selected_fg_color is ignored
I realize this is non-standard use but thought worth mentioning

To test change both, the bg will be used, the fg will not
Ex.
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-color-scheme "selected_bg_color:#DCB575;selected_fg_color:#3c3b37"

Everywhere else but the panel will reflect both changes, the panel will only change the bg

To return to default - (a log out/in may also be needed
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-color-scheme ""

what's the problem again?

If I run gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-color-scheme "selected_bg_color:#DCB575;selected_fg_color:#3c3b37" the selected color of menus change (the happens to the panel menus) and if I run gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-color-scheme "" everything gets back to normal.

Omer - thanks for taking a look, really not a big issue I guess (well for me if wanting to use a mooded Ambaice it may be..

Anyway it the 'selected_fg' color that's not being treated right from the initial panel menu(s), everywhere else is fine with the sole exception of firefox. global

The secondary panel menu 'selected_fg' is being treated right . Will attach some screens to illistrate.

ist screen - sond menu - notice the 1st selected_fg stays light, the secondary uses my defined color for selected_fg

screen 2 - the Desktop panel menu, same as previous, 1st selected stays with orig. color *light), secondary uses defined for selected_fg

screen 3 - extended example from unity-5.0 of Firefox global working as expected. In 5.2 it is quite wrong.
This is also how all panel menus work in 5.0, ie. ALL 'selected_fg' use the defined color

Just to note -( updated fully thru today with unity/unity-2d. light-themes, ect.

This seems to be a general issue with the appmenus, (gtk &qt4) & the indicator menus. Seen the same in unity & unity-2d

Firefox & Thunderbird are showing the same as te.png, ie. the secondary menu uses a dark bg & a light fg, neither of which can be changed.

systray icon menus are unaffected
sudo window menus are the same, whether primary or secondary, dark bg, light fg, no change possible

Some of what is currently seen is related to here, much existed prior to light-themes upgrading - Bug 925895

This has now been fixed, the panel & global menus will use the defined selected fg & bg colors, both in the primary & sub-menus
Atm the sub-menu itself is the wrong color (light), but that 's the other bug
Hopefully when that is fixed this doesn't revert
