running the latest precise packages on an oracle virtualbox vm - ubuntu precise with latest packages as the host

happened after logging in and launching the gnome-system-monitor after updating all of the packages

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Ubuntu 12.04 reached EOL on April 28, 2017.

I've tried recreating this bug with your release and was unable to, given the information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest version and re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.
