Bug Description

Hi,

I have a Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a company and are unable to acces to a share folder hosted by a Mac mini server (Lion).

1° From Nautilus "Connect to server", i can connect but unable to write a file inside (but i see the folder content), user permission are right because it work on windows xp, same problem on Ubuntu 11.10..

2° Add a permanant folder in /etc/fstab dont work (i saw some where that i have to use line below but it not work)
//xx.xx.xx.xx/my_folder /mnt/my_folder cifs credentials=/home/xxx/.smbcredentials,rw,iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,nounix,noserverinfo,sec=ntlmssp 0 0

This line work on the current Ubuntu 11.10 but not 10.04.. The option "ntlmssp" are not know by the cifs lucid version..

So, i'm unable to connect to that SMB folder (on Mac mini server Lion) with Ubuntu 10.04 and have problem with 11.10 from Nautilus too..

Thanks in advance,
Michael

I'm having the same problem from Nautilus. Looking far & wide for a solution & not been successful so far. My experience has taken me down patching smbclient on a linux client to work with Lion server, as well as realizing the CIFS kernel module didn't include ntlmssp until a certain kernel version which hasn't been released for 10.04 yet. I don't know the kernel version required, but I've tested on 2.6.37.6 & it works. I don't' know anything about CIFS over FUSE, but I hope the devs are aware of the problem?
