[ 6.440000] Disabling IRQ #23

Happens with
2.6.20-8-386

The latest 2.6.20-10-386 exhibit a similar oops. Not sure of the stack trace. Will post it when I reboot back to the -10 kernel.

Can you add "nosplash irqpoll" to your grub kernel line (and remove quiet), and try again?

If this still doesn't boot, can you take a picture of the screen. If it does boot, can you supply the output of the following,

dmesg
lspci --nnvv
lsmod

Thanks

it does boot. See attached files.

Note: the ath_pci driver and dependencies is *blacklisted*. It is just loaded manually by me, so anything that happen during bootup is on an *untainted* kernel.

I don't know if it is related but I seem to have USB problems since....
Given that "usbcore" appear in the trace....

Still occur on 2.6.20-11

Strangely the Atheros driver later claim IRQ 23. I wonder if that does not cause bug 92403

For the USB problem I filed bug 92718

Really looks like it is causing bug 92403 and bug 92718
