Progress bar stalls when an error is encountered

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

If an error is encountered while packages are being unpacked, the progress bar and messages stop being updated. Because update-manager tries to recover from this by continuing with configuration, this means that there may be no further feedback to the user for a very long time. It should firstly inform the user that an error has been encountered, and preferably display the progress of the recovery process.

Thanks for your bugreport.

This problem is fixed in my local tree and the fix will be part of the next upload.

It will show the error dialog first now and run the recovery then. Unfortunately it will not show a progress bar after the error anymore, just a terminal window. The problem is that the information what packages are left to configure is currently not available easily. This should be improved in the future.

Cheers,
 Michael
