this would probably need the same magic as the dash.

Ah, I see, did you turn of the dash blur fully? You should note thats a non-standard option that is really not supported so bugs related to it are less likely to get attention.

@ories; Looking at the screenshot this is not a design issue, the HUD is not being rendered correctly for some reason.

Hi

Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch)
Release: 12.04
unity:
  Installed: 5.6.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 5.6.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 5.6.0-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I am having a similar issue with the HUD/Dash.

What happens:
- I open the dash/HUD and it will randomly choose the wrong background colour/blur effect.
- It is usually occurs when repeatedly opening/closing the HUD.

It doesn't actually matter about the white application, because I have had it where the wrong colour has been selected without any applications open and the wallpaper can make the text unreadable.

I have attached two screenshots, one showing the issue and one as it normally is, as you can see in the normal image the HUD is perfectly readable with a white background behind - just unity decides on the wrong background colour/blur for the dash/HUD.

Finally I have marked this bug as confirmed as I am also effected by the issue which bluenova has reported.

NOTE: I am using Oracle VirtualBox with 12.04 as the Guest.

Andy

Thanks for the bug report. Is that still an issue for you Ubuntu 12.04 with all updates applied? Can you please test that and let us know?
