Bug Description

Occasionally, the Firefox main menu does not appear in the Unity top bar when the <Alt> key is pressed. The problem is not presetn with most other applications: if I switch to a gvim window, <Alt>-E opens the "Edit" menu.

Expected behaviour: when a Firefox window has focus, pressing <Alt>-E should show the "Edit" menu.

This appears to prevent access to a lot of the application's functionality, so it might be considered a high-priority issue.

The issue is currently 100% reproducible, but I know for a fact that I was able to access Firefox menus earlier. I have no idea what changed and have a feeling they would work again if I restarted Firefox or Unity.

forget my above comment if you are not talking about unity hud.
like if you are talking about unity hud than if we press <alt> than its for the top bar menus and we open it from there.
and as you again mentioned that <alt+e > than i am able to open the top bar menus with this shortcuts.
firstly please confirm that your system is fully update.

Thanks for the comment Bilal, but I was not talking about the HUD interface: I was talking about what I observed using a default Ubuntu 11.10 graphical environment.

Tomislav,

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug in 2012 and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an issue? Can this bug report now be closed?

If we do not hear from you the bug report will close itself in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
