Bug Description

yesterday I have added Skype and gigolo to the systray using "gsettings set". That update worked as expected. Today I have upgraded the system and all systray items disappeared. I have tried to restore as folows without success:

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['JavaEmbeddedFrame', 'Wine', 'scp-dbus-service', 'Update-notifier']"

GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_type_is_maybe: assertion `g_variant_type_check (type)' failed

GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_type_is_array: assertion `g_variant_type_check (type)' failed

GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_type_dup_string: assertion `g_variant_type_check (type)' failed

GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_type_equal: assertion `g_variant_type_check (type1)' failed
0-68:can not parse as value of type `(null)'

Those settings seem correct, but are not displayed in the top panel.

 gsettings get com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist
['JavaEmbeddedFrame', 'Wine', 'scp-dbus-service', 'Update-notifier']

I had the same problem. I could not file it against Unity, they wanted
me to file it to one of the parts of unity. I have no idea what the
parts of Unity are.

I am on Ubuntu 12/04 (upgraded from 11.10) now and there it is fixed. I
think it has been fixed in 11.10 too, but I am not sure wheher I
remember that correctly.
