Bug Description

Booting the distro Live via USB - When the E525 (Thinkpad EDGE) starts Ubuntu - X fails to start - to resolve this issue: (at boot time) Press F6 - Turn on all "EXTRAS" - Boots to a VT then after execute - apt-get install fgrlx - then run startx.

Would it be possible fot you to save the Xorg.0.log before you install fglrx and start X? (or use the Xorg.1.log, whichever log shows X not starting with open-source ati driver)
