Bug Description

When I start playing a song from the new album view (the dark Cairo modal popup), the "now playing" icon show up next to the track. However, switching views and looking at the same track reveals that the "now playing" icon isn't showing next to the track in other views.

Interestingly enough, when I start the song from the list view then switch to the album view and click on the album, the now playing icon shows up there.

Have you ever played a song in one view, and then looked at that song in another view? It has the same effect. The now playing icon only shows in the currently playing list of songs.

Well, then there's something inconsistent. As I stated in the bug, if I start playing the song in the list or filter view, then look at it in the album view, the now playing icon shows. However it does not work in reverse. One or the other should be changed to keep things consistent, and I don't see why we shouldn't show which song is playing no matter where you're looking at it.

I can confirm this bug. Using a different view doesn't make it a different list.

Since the second part is a different bug, it should be in a different report.

And yes, all views have unique lists.

Unfortunately, this bug is still present. If I play a song in Column View, the playing icon shows next to the track in List View, but not in Album View. If I play a song in Album View, the playing icon doesn't show in any other views. This is inconsistent and confusing.

Some thoughts on how the views should interact:

1. The different views are just different ways of looking at the same music. They should be treated as such.
2. The playing icon should sync across views.
3. When switching between views, whatever stuff I have pulled up in one view should appear in the new view.

The overall goal for these changes would be to unify the experience of using views. Instead of each view acting like a separate music library, each would be merely a different way to look at the same music.
