Bug Description

software-center 5.2.5, Ubuntu 12.04
software-center 13.10-0ubuntu4.1, Ubuntu 14.04

When we search pcmanx-gtk2 by keyword 'pcman', we can not find pcmanx-gtk2 in Ubuntu Software Center.
But we can find its fork, i.e. gemanx-gtk2.
This is very weird because gemanx-gtk2 and pcmanx-gtk2 should have the same result especially when their code bases are almost the same.
There is an upstream bug report at http://code.google.com/p/pcmanx-gtk2/issues/detail?id=27 .

Hello fourdollars! As Michael mentioned above, the pcmanx-gtk2 is in fact available by the search. You must click the "Show technical items" link at the bottom of the view to see this package. I've attached a screenshot to demonstrate. Thank you again for your report!

@Gary,

Thanks for your feedback.
Why we have to click "Show technical items"?
pcmanx-gtk2 is just a normal GTK+ application.
Its behavior should be just like its fork, i.e. GeMan X BBS Client.

Precise is still a maintained distro version, as long as the bug can be reproduced it shouldn't be invalid.

 - that issue is not 'only' affecting that app, many others also are; making that one useless
 - software-center is badly and uncomplatedly designed, and fixes are rarely done, so if that pleased you to get it opened, i've the feeling it will not be fixed when Precise will reach EOL anyway.
 - in fact comment # 5 above explain how badly that app was designed.
