Picasa doesn't connect to web albunms

Hi I've just installed Picasa on a fresh mint 12 installation and got a error message informing me that HttpOpenRequest failed (12157)
After some googling I follwed the instructions here to resolve the issue (essentially replacing wininet.dll installed with Picasa with one installed by Wine)

I'm not sure whats wrong with the .dll or if its just a small number of machines which need to have this change made .... but don't think its a bug that when installed it doesn't work on the machine without intevention

not sure whats needed here in way of information please let me know what logs etc you need
