bug #440889 can't be opened, how to veryfy is this the similar problem or not. By the way, problem now is software-center completly brocken, not starting at all, and i think this is after the latest python update.

I have the same problem, software center won't open at all on Ubuntu 12.04, may have been an update that broke it.
