Hello,
Now I'm in the office, when I go to my home, I'll remake the icon and
I'll send you for make one more test. If you can't make the crash with
the new icon, I change it and I'll send it to Zeus to change in the
theme :)
Otavio, do you need the icon 'asap' or you can wait for the next release?

I think is better fix it ASAP. When Zeus release a new version we can
repackage it but I want to solve it for sarge.

This is a plain svg, I read the xml and I don't see nothing strange.
Elias, please put this icon in the mimetype directory and try to make
the crash, if not octavio use this icon for the package.
Thank you.

I can confirm nautilus doesn't crash anymore (and PS files appear as a blue figure with the text Aa below it).

¿?
The icon I send it's a white sheet with a printer... Not a blue
figure...
If you see the file in nautilus, what is the image?
Can you send me a screenshot?
Thanx in advance.

Sorry, I had copied it to a wrong location. The new one still crashes.
But, I could track the problem down some more - it only crashes when the
view is set to 25%. If I set it 50% or anything bigger it works fine.
And, If I open the .svg in inkscape, ungroup the group with the printer,
and delete only the little white highlight on the red button - it also
works.
So, again: The crash happens only if the view scaling is set to 25% in
nautilus (list view or icon view doesn't matter - only i had icon view
set to 100% and list view to 25%), and if the little white highlight on
the red printer button is there. Viewing as 50% or bigger, or removing
the white highlight, and everything works fine.

Yes, e.g. SphereCrystal. The bug may very well be in nautilus. Eog,
gimv, gimp (and even nautilus with anything but 25%) all display
the .svg without problems.

Made no difference :| I wonder what is the difference between the PS
icon and all the others.. it may just trigger something else, but don't
know what.
I tried around some more, and if you remove the following with a text
editor:
<path
d="M 52.523600,51.047500 C 52.523600,52.059800
51.636200,52.881400 50.542900,52.881400 C 49.449600,52.881400
48.562300,52.059800 48.562300,51.047500 C 48.562300,50.035100
49.449600,49.213500 50.542900,49.213500 C 51.636200,49.213500
52.523600,50.035100 52.523600,51.047500 z "
transform=
style="
id="path582" />
(which is just the white highlight on top of the red printer button) the
crash is gone. And when looking again at the traceback, it isn't a
SIGSEGV, but a SIGABRT - so libart just encounters something it can't
handle and aborts (I guess). It's almost sure the theme icons aren't the
culprit.. maybe someone can forward it to a more appropriate place?

Finally I found the problem!!!!!
Buf...
the problem it's in index.theme file, I modify some lines like:
[scalable/
MinSize=1
Size=48 <-- From 72 to 48
MaxSize=128
Context=MimeTypes
Type=scalable
Te crash it's fixed, but now we need modify all the icons to the new
size.. it's a lot of time...
But you can use this file to correct, but the theme look some bad
(biggest icons, but no crash...)
I go to sleep, tomorrow I beguin to correct totally the bug...

thanks
This bug is triggered by the combination of librsvg2 and libart-lgpl.
To render a gradient fill, librsvg2 has to calculate the rate of change of
the gradient. If the distances become too small, in this case somehow the
three numbers that represent the rate of change become NaN.
Next, librsvg2 passes this faulty gradient to libart-lgpl, where it causes
an assert to fail.
I've attached a patch for librsvg2.

After selecting this icon theme, nautilus crashes and gets trapped in an endless
crash-restart cycle with a running gnome. After moving around all the 500+ files in my home
dir, I could track this down to PS files. I.e., if there are no PS files in a folder,
nautilus works. This only applies to the "view as list" display in nautilus. Attaches is a stack
backtrace from nautilus - but since this only occurs with this theme, I think the fault is
not necessarily with nautilus (and also was told on #nautilus that the theme is at fault).

Dear Elias,
I'll be glad to solve this bug but for it I need more information.
Please provide:
- which version of nautilus are you using?
I cannot reproduze it so I need this information to try it.
One possible root cause could be libart-2.0-2 package. Since you
notice that problem only is found when have a ps file could be when
nautilus try to build a miniature of original file.
Thanks,
Otavio

This is a plain svg, I read the xml and I don't see nothing strange.
Elias, please put this icon in the mimetype directory and try to make =20
the crash, if not octavio use this icon for the package.
Thank you.

I can confirm nautilus doesn't crash anymore (and PS files appear as a blue figure with the text Aa below it).

The icon I send it's a white sheet with a printer... Not a blue =20

Made no difference :| I wonder what is the difference between the PS
icon and all the others.. it may just trigger something else, but don't
know what.
I tried around some more, and if you remove the following with a text
editor:
<path
d="M 52.523600,51.047500 C 52.523600,52.059800
51.636200,52.881400 50.542900,52.881400 C 49.449600,52.881400
48.562300,52.059800 48.562300,51.047500 C 48.562300,50.035100
49.449600,49.213500 50.542900,49.213500 C 51.636200,49.213500
52.523600,50.035100 52.523600,51.047500 z "
transform=
style="
id="path582" />
(which is just the white highlight on top of the red printer button) the
crash is gone. And when looking again at the traceback, it isn't a
SIGSEGV, but a SIGABRT - so libart just encounters something it can't
handle and aborts (I guess). It's almost sure the theme icons aren't the
culprit.. maybe someone can forward it to a more appropriate place?

the problem it's in index.theme file, I modify some lines like:
[scalable/
MinSize=1
Size=48 <-- From 72 to 48
MaxSize=128
Context=MimeTypes
Type=scalable
Te crash it's fixed, but now we need modify all the icons to the new
size.. it's a lot of time...
But you can use this file to correct, but the theme look some bad
(biggest icons, but no crash...)
I go to sleep, tomorrow I beguin to correct totally the bug...

Dear Elias,
I'll be glad to solve this bug but for it I need more information.
Please provide:
- which version of nautilus are you using?
I cannot reproduze it so I need this information to try it.
One possible root cause could be libart-2.0-2 package. Since you
notice that problem only is found when have a ps file could be when
nautilus try to build a miniature of original file.
Thanks,
Otavio
