Since I installed Ubuntu 10.04 this happens:
When upgrading or installing any APPLICATION, crashes, do I have to put this:

sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock
sudo dpkg -configure -a
sudo aptitude update

That distro have reached EOL since a while; and such problem has been resolved long time ago.
