Bug Description
I'm trying to update from Oneiric to Precise. Here's what update-manager -d says after the "Downloading the release upgrade tool" window gets closed:
authenticate 'precise.tar.gz' against 'precise.
exception from gpg: GnuPG exited non-zero, with code 1

Are you using a proxy server of some sort that would affect the downloading of precise.tar.gz? You should be able to find that file in /tmp/update- manager- w6dStv or if its not there in a folder named similarly if you start the process again. I'd check the size and md5sum of the file to ensure it has not been modified.
