Bug Description

My Lenovo Ideapad S10-3 fails to resume from suspend when I close the lid. Is there a way to get it to work? Or do I need to file a bug. A few details.

Could you please run 'apport-collect 918998' in a terminal? That will attach some more system information to this report. Although it appears you've provided a lot of information, it can't hurt to be sure. Also, do you mean that it fails to resume from suspend when you open the lid? The expected behavior is usually for the computer to hibernate/suspend when the lid is closed, and then to wake up when the lid is opened.

Sorry for late reply.

The device appears to hibernate when I close the lid. If fails to start when I open.

It may be worth noting I chose the option to encrypt the /home during the installation. Could this be part of the problem?

It does appear to be the encrypted /home:

i see that status of this topic is "incomplete" , but i'm interesting in solving of the problem. Can i provide some information that may help? I have Lenovo S10-3 with Precise beta with latest updates, but system is still unable to resume from suspend as an year and half ago.

Unfortunately I didn't notice the email saying this was updated, that's why it's incomplete. Sorry for *my* late reply! I'm going to confirm this and mark it as a duplicate of bug 432785, though, since pj determined that the problem was due to him having his drive encrypted. Is your drive encrypted as well, Victor? If it is you can mark yourself as an affected user of bug 432785. If not, please open another bug against the kernel by typing 'ubuntu-bug linux' in a terminal.
