Bug Description
1.) I open a PDF document.
2.) I set my preferred view mode for it.
3.) I click on "Save current settings as default"
4.) I open a copy of the document (by clicking on the "Open a Copy" item).
5.) The copy is opened. Unfortunately, my preferred and saved setting have been ignored by evince and the document is displayed in a default (for me a quite odd) way.
Some details: my preferred display regime is to utilise the PRECIOUS VERTICAL SPACE as much effectively as possible for the document CONTENT. I.e.:
I turn off all toolbars. Only the bar with "File", "Edit", etc is shown.
I use the "Best Fit" mode.
I turn OFF the "Continuous" mode.
In additions I turn off also the side bar.
In 90% of situations I do not need sidebar and I always prefer keyboard over mouse.
