Finder does not remember searches from previous sessions

Bug Description
I want to see the last 10 values from previous searches when gedit starts. I expect each field that remembers previous values to save the data when I find or replace.
I image that non-existent paths should be purged so impossible searches are not suggested. Oh, this is probably a separate bug because I can type a bad path and the finder does not tell me.
