Bug Description

in unity 5.0 from staging ppa when I disable the apps available for download from the gsettings it go away but the installed sections not expand by default and i have to expand it when i open the dash
i did disabled the apps available for download sections to save screen space why not to autoexpand by default ???

the app loading seems to take a fraction of time when expanded so that is one reason for it not being expanded when 'available to download' apps are disabled.

why not to make it as an option and the user free to enable it ?

Marked 'Won't fix' because we don't want to special case the behaviour of a single Dash Lens. There is also another solution to the request; just expand the category once and it will stay expanded because the Dash is stateful (within sessions). If somebody would like to volunteer to make the Dash stateful between sessions, this is a change we could also consider. Any volunteers?
