PCI: BIOS Bug while booting

Bug Description

System:
- Asus laptop F3tc-003 (bios rev. 213)
- AMD Turion x2 TL-52
-00:10.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP51 High Definition Audio (rev a2)

I run feisty, generic kernel (not amd64), updated regularly

I get following error when booting

[ 0.072973] PCI: BIOS Bug: MCFG area at e0000000 is not E820-reserved
[ 0.073030] PCI: Not using MMCONFIG.

The errors were not there when using edgy (stable).
The message is visible just after the grub menu and then disappears and system continues to work normally. There are some other errors which probably need an other ticket however they might be related to this one. They are: kvm reporting Could not initialize KVM, will disable KVM support (worked with edgy on the same hardware) and sound volume stuck at 100%.
Please let me know if some additional info/files is needed.
Keep up good work!
Michal

Thanks for your report Mikiel,

could you please include your logs as attachments (not cut and paste them)?
It makes them much easier to read.
We would also appreciate it if you can provide a list of all your pci devices (sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log).

BIOS bugs are BIOS bugs, not kernel bugs :)

We can't fix your BIOS, but we have disabled MCFG by default, so hopefully you wont see them again.

Changed in linux-source-2.6.20:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected

Did you try the boot option "pci=nommconf"?
