Bug Description

Hi I've got a problem running the mint desktop; periodically the desktop freezes leaving me with limited access to existing windows
I can for windows already open access menus and the windows closed down using exit (or equiv. short cuts), however the rest of the desktop is none responsive; ultimatley I fallback to the termnal tty1 and kill all my processes forcing me to log back in - when the session will work fine for what appears to be a random period of time

jim@chocolate-mint /var/log $ uname -a
Linux chocolate-mint 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:50:42 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I'm running 1920x1200 screen on 24" monitor
I've notice that Gnome3 occasionally crashes and reloads & I suspect that the freezing is when the reload fails

Happy to provide any logs etc. that might be useful

I am having pretty much the same problem. Gnome3 is not crashing. But both mate and gnom3 freezes up> It has only been doing this lately.

I am seeing the same. Occasional Lockup with Mate and Gnome 3. Desktop just freezes. My video hardware is also Intel, but slightly different. I am on a Dell Latitude E6400 with 4G RAM. I seem to notice it more when I am using an external monitor, or LCD projector, or plugged into the dock station with a 22" LCD attached. I have also seen it just using the laptop undocked without an additional monitor attached to my laptop.
