OpenERP 6.1rc1 not installed properly

Service OpenERPServerService.exe was not installed properly.

Tested on clean virtualized WinXP SP3 CZech.

The same on WinXP SP3 Rus

Could you please test it with the latest nightly build:

I dont have w7 cz nor ru here. If the problem is still present could you help us to track it down by checking the logfiles ?

Using night build All in One 6.1dev 20120213-020001.exe produces the same error.

IMHO: if it happens only on localized Win XP, the problem is using some path name localized
into national language for example Documents, Recent etc....

Try install [6.1] on

1) WinXP (ru).
After install OpenERP
OpenERPServerService.exe don't install as service automatically (not in service list - in "services.msc").

I have found problem!
For work OpenERPServerService.exe need "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)", which is missing in XP.
If you want that service work, download "Microsoft Package":
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29

And install it before installing openerp. Enjoy it!
