Bug Description

whenever I go for new installation it happens... started just after the upgration from 10.04 to 12.04 ubuntu.
and the most weird thing is that during installation when it asks for authentication, sometimes my password is not authenticated !!! The worst thing is that I am unable to install any new software...unable to update unable to upgrade !!!

This looks like a bug in GLib/GIO: g_dbus_proxy_new_sync () returns NULL without setting a GError. According to the documentation, if this function returns NULL it has to set a GError...
Is this bug still valid with newer versions of GIO?
