Bug Description

In a new installation of Ubuntu there are incosistencies in the text used to describe when a user enters their password incorrectly. The ones I have found are:

Logging in from boot:
"Invalid password, please try again"

Unlocking your computer:
"Incorrect password"

PolicyKit: Authenticating an operation e.g. installing an application:
"Your authentication attempt was unsuccessful. Please try again."

sudo: Putting in a password in the terminal:
"Sorry, try again."

Entering a password on tty1-6
"Login incorrect"

It could be argued that the text used for logging in should be different to the other tasks, but even then there are inconsistencies

It sounds like we need a string for invalid password that can be retrieved by any application that needs it, however such a solution would be difficult to implement for so many disparate applications. Not exactly papercut material.

Changed in hundredpapercuts:
milestone: none → quantal-8-administration
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → Low
status: Confirmed → Invalid
milestone: quantal-8-administration → none
importance: Low → Undecided
Changed in lightdm:

importance: Undecided → Low
affects: lightdm → unity-greeter (Ubuntu)
