Bug Description

Configuration:
Default Xubuntu 11.10 64-bit desktop ISO image.

To reproduce:
1) Install clean Xubuntu 11.10 to HDD using defaults.
2) Make sure that GTK2 and GTK3 apps are using default theme in their UI.
3) Install some Qt-based program. For example, qutim. Any other Qt-based app which does not uses custom styles by default and relies on system defaults should do the trick as well.
4) Launch Qt-based program you've installed.
5) Make sure that Qt-based program ignores UI settings and uses some widgets set which looks different than default Xubuntu widgets.

Result:
All Qt based apps will look poorly in Xubuntu. They will not look like native apps in this system.

Expected:
Qt apps should obey system settings. At very least they should look properly with default theme.

Details:
Some details on this issue and one of possible workarounds has been described on http://mikemcquaid.com/2011/12/make-qt-use-the-gtk-style-on-xfce-or-xubuntu/

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/915160/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I usually work around it by installing the kde settings program (sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends systemsettings) and tweaking appropriately.
