Bug Description

proposal to change it to "arty", maybe adding a /etc/ubuntu_version, although we
have /etc/lsb-release.

I think leaving it as it is is appropriate; we're a branch of Debian unstable,
after all. Changing it at this point risks breaking programs that parse
/etc/debian_version, and those programs do exist.

Also, we talked out the ubuntu_version idea on the mailing list ages back, and
Mark's eventual decision was for /etc/lsb-release.
