installer crashes at end of install

Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.04, it will not boot and if I try to use recovery mode I get error "fake initctl called doing nothing" when for instance I try to resume normal boot. But it installed on my other (desktop) computer beautifully.

I get this message too and I don't see the connection with #850264. Can you please explain?

The error that appears in the syslog.txt file attached to this bug report indicates that libc was trying to be removed, however this error was fixed in later versions of precise. In the event that you, Thomas, are experiencing an error with the installation process i would be helpful if you were to report a bug from the live install environment using the comand 'ubuntu-bug ubiquity'. Thanks in advance.
