[Realtek ID 892] ALSA test tone not correctly played back No Audio. Ragged Start-up

Bug Description

There was once audio. I have audio until I switched from an DVI to a HDMI video cable- then it all went to pot. I had successfully installed the nVidia drivers and CUDA for the GeForce 550Ti GPU. Everything was fine. I switched the cables and it's never been the same.

Start requires 3-4 boots, but eventually I get to where I need to be. The "splash" screen changed from a high-res graphical Ubuntu logo to a text only Ubuntu logo. Often, it hangs after the sep3_4 drivers are loaded.

This version has expired some times ago, and no backport is expected as there is no 'security' reported problem
