Bug Description

Currently this system does not install without adding the nomodeset option. After install, the system will kick you to a console (again with nomodeset), and fglrx will have to be installed (sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install fglrx) to allow normal boot. Creating this bug for cert tracking.

Looks like the same issue as LP:825777. Can you try to install the packages from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/825777/comments/22 and remove fglrx, see whether you can have a successful boot?

@Anthony,

For this system we are using i386 for cert purposes, would it be possible to make those packages for x86?

@Marc

Sure, assigning to Jesse for creating the i386 packages.

Fixes is already in the proposed kernel, may do the test with it. :)

Sorry, should be pre-proposed kernel instead of proposed one...

Jesse, can you point me to the pre-proposed kernel? I'm not familiar with using it.
