Ubuntu sometimes doesn't boot

Bug Description
Using ubuntu 11.10 kernel 3.15 (also had the same problem with previous kernels)
A lot of the times I try to boot ubuntu,
after the grub Instead of the login screen I get this screen instead http://
(the line about plymouth says not connected to plymouth)
usually rebooting it (sometimes more than one time) solves the problem
