Bug Description

sudo apt-get install libdvd read4

sudo/user/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

Source, RestrictedFormats/PlayingDVD - Community Ubuntu

The instruction does not decode the latest Warner DVD's, they changed their CSS around 2-3 years ago.
Recent copy software which removes CSS will remove the Warner CSS but an alternative to creating a new Region 0 disc would be better.
( O/S is Ubuntu 10.04 )

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/912320/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Hi,

There's been a new libdvdcss release, which is available in the medibuntu -staging repositories (lucid-staging seems to be the one you need).

Could you upgrade your package to see if it fixes the problem?

Thanks.

Hi, Gauvain, has not gone well, messed up my computer, can still open my
important things and can view DVD that predates the most recent CSS
encoding.
As soon as I request anything, the "no entry" symbol appears, screentop
right.
I guess I misread something and typed in a bad command, a sort out job
for Sunday or Monday.
Thanks, sorry I messed up, I have to clean up before I can do anything else.
Regards, Michael.

The latest libdvdcss upload in medibuntu should have fixed this problem. Please reopen if it is still happening.
